ATV Crash at Sandlake - One Person Died

SANDLAKE, OR - On November 24, 2007, at 8:30 pm, Tillamook County Sheriff's Deputies, Nestucca Fire and Rescue, and Tillamook Ambulance, responded to a reported ATV crash at Sandlake Recreation Area. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the crash involved two ATV's. One ATV rider was unconscious and receiving CPR from citizens at the crash scene. The rider of the other ATV appeared to be in extreme pain.

Deputies identified the unconscious rider as Michael Montgomery, 30 years old, from Sublimity, Oregon. Attempts to revive Montgomery were not successful and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured rider was identified as, Michael Fuller, 44 years old, from Hillsboro, Oregon. Fuller was transported to OHSU by Lifeflight Helicoper.
