Flooding in Tillamook County
Heavy flooding caused chaos at the Wilson River RV park where at least
two propane tanks broke free as waters engulfed several vehicles. One
propane tank was 500 gallons and believed to be full. Law Enforcement
closed Wilson River Loop (the bypass when Hwy 101 Floods) and push vehicles
back at least 1/4 mile as the propane tank floated downstream. Fire Officials
were unsure if the tank would clear the bridge.
The tank floated past the bridge and traffic was reopened to Commerical trucks
and high-profile vehicles only due to strong current across roadway on the bypass.
The Sheriff's Office reports the Wilson River RV Park was just about completely gone
Monday evening. The park’s office was swept off its’ foundation and got snagged in a tree
Monday afternoon. Deputies said it was about to go into the Wilson River at any moment.
