TILLAMOOK — An arraignment on a grand jury indictment of Frank Hoyt Pike, 29, of Tillamook, accused in the March 16 murder of Oceanside resident Julie Herman, has been held over until June.

At a session in Tillamook County Circuit Court March 27, Pike's defense attorney, Charles Fryer of Hillsboro, waived the reading of the indictment. He said, because it is early in the case, the defense needs to get its "feet on the ground" and "evaluate the indictment more thoroughly."

The enter of plea is set for June 12 at 2 p.m. in Circuit Court. Pike will continue to be held without provision for bail at Tillamook County Jail.

Pike is accused of aggravated murder and robbery, arson and burglary, all in the first degree.
